Thomas "Tom" Alan Blank 51 of Opportunity MT
Tom was born in Anaconda, May 17th, 1969 to Doris and Jerry Blank. He was greeted by his three older brothers Daniel, Kenneth and Rob and13 months later, Tom greeted his baby sister Susan.
Tom left us April 4th, 2021 to join his father, favorite uncle Sheldon Aho, favorite cousin Jimmy Griffin and too many other loved ones to mention, in heaven.
Tom loved playing cribbage, hunting, fishing, golf, and pitching horseshoes with buddies until Tom's health took his strength away from him to do the thing he loved so much. He looked forward to football season ... BIGGEST Steelers fan "We ever knew". When he was 7 or 8 yrs old he would grab all of his Steeler’s stuff; lamp, garbage can, blanket, pillow, and put his steelers coat and hats on, (yes plural hats) a winter stocking cap and a football cap and sit on the floor in front of the TV and watch from beginning to end NON-STOP!! He had an autographed picture of Terry Bradshaw, and soooo much more memorabilia.
The 4th of July was his favorite holiday, our Mommy called all her boys urban terrorists! T loved setting them off till 3 or 4 in the morning. And at times Wess and Susan would get a text saying, go to your front porch and look towards Mom's. And then this big bright beautiful firework would go up high in the sky. Then Tom would text and say did you see it? Did you hear it? Lots of laughter and love from Tom!
He had a special way with hummingbirds, ducklings, and little finches. The birds and hummingbirds would land on the brim of his hat, fingertips, and shoulders. The duckling found its way to him and Tom took care of it for quite some time until he released it in the creek across the street. Tom had a gentle and very caring soul, a heart as big as the universe and beyond for all animals including his dog "Tug" and his other furbaby that Tom called his corn dog with eyes and legs! His “Chy Chy Channel”.
Tom is survived by his loving mother Doris Blank, brothers Dan (Helen), Ken and Rob (Starla),
sister Susan (Wess) Maerz, nephew's Keith (Lindsey) and Matt (Meghan), great nephew's Mavrik and Ethan, and Nathan and niece Cora Lynn Maerz.
He was preceded in death father Jerry Blank, aunts and uncles Kathy and Ray Griffin, Darlene and Eugene Baker, cousins Bob Baker and Jimmy Griffin and brother Jeremy Davis.
Tom will be missed by many.
