Theodore "Ted" Richard Davis

July 11, 1941 ~ August 14, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Obituary

In the early morning hours of August 14, 2023, Theodore Richard Davis (Ted) passed away peacefully in his sleep.  He was living in Anaconda, MT. with his youngest Daughter, Dorothy Michelle, who lovingly cared for him in his final years.  He was 82 years old at the time of death.

Ted was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on July 11, 1941 to Jack Everett Davis and Mildred Davis (Hicks).  He was the third of five children, three boys and two girls, born to Jack and Mildred.

Ted Joined the U.S. Navy early in life, serving honorably for nearly 27 years as a machinist mate aboard numerous ships including; the USS Willsey, the USS Iwo Jima, and the USS Sterett to name a few.  He served three tours in Vietnam and received the Silver Star.

On October 13, 1962 He married the love of his Life, Lorraine Helen Keller who preceded him in death.  He was a loving husband and father and had two children, his first daughter Wendy Ann, and his youngest daughter Dorothy Michelle.

Ted loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and the warm comradery these brought him.  Those who knew him well knew fishing with him was a rather “unique” experience to say the least.  He had a quick wit and a brilliant sense of humor and was often heard using idioms such as; “Some days you eat the bear.  Some days the bear eats you” while he sat around the fire with his best friend Ricky C. Fry.  There are many funny stories about Ted, but the day he flung his fishing pole in the water because he was irate about getting a new super magic lure stuck was one of the most comical.  When asked what he was going to do now he said, “Buy a new fishing pole of course.”   The world will be a dimer place without his sense of humor and love for life.

His loving wife Lorraine and his grandson Christopher Carl Fry preceded Ted in death.

Ted’s sister and brother-in-law, Dottie and Harmon Prine, his best friend Ricky Fry, his eldest daughter Wendy Ann Davis and her husband David Rich, his youngest daughter Dorothy Michelle Kosak, his granddaughter and her husband Carolanne and J. J. Nguyen, and his great grandchildren Benjamin and Anna, survive Ted in life.

Finally, a note of thanks for all the wonderful nursing staff that cared him and for Adina, his home care attendant.
