Taimi Adodar "Tai" Immonen, passed away Saturday, June 15th, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Tai was born in Itasco, Minn. on May 20, 1917 to Felix and Eluiina Hyyti. She attended schools in Kewattin, Minn. and later moved to Butte, MT. There she attended and completed McCarrolls School of Cosmetology. She also met and married her friend and the love of her life, Wilho Immonen. Out of that union came two children, Eileen and Walt.
Tai was a master seamstress and a sewing instructor. She retired from Warm Springs State Hospital, where she worked as a seamstress and also worked on the wards.
After Wilho's passing in 1971, she met her special friend Nick Sayatovic Sr. Together they traveled and loved dancing together for many years until Nick's passing. Tai was a true animal lover and a great teller of stories. She would relate stories of her own childhood as well as stories of her children and grandchildren, all happy and very funny. Tai had a great sense of humor. She loved her family, and will be truly missed.
Tai was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Wilho, and mother and father- in-laws, and special friend Nick Sayatovic Sr. as well as her sister and brother -in-law Walt and Bonnie Immonen.
She is survived by her daughter Eileen (Norman) Cary, her son Walter Immonen (Judy Powers), her grandchildren, Terry Dwyer, Mike (Becky) Ford, Pat (Vicki) Ford. Jeanie Meyer, Frank (Linda) Kivla, Alan (Angie) Immonen. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, her niece, Betty (Ted) Lorenz, and nephew William (Wilma) Immonen.
Cremation has taken place and a private service by the family will be held at a later date.
