Mary Denise Thompson

On Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 Mary Denise (Astle) Thompson rose to everlasting life just as He did on this Holy day. Mary Denise was born October 16, 1939, the only daughter to John P. and Isabelle (Deschamps) Astle Sr. She was raised in Anaconda attending St. Paul's grade school and graduating from Anaconda Central High School in 1957. After school, Mary Denise went to work for the Daly Bank in Anaconda and in 1963 moved to San Francisco where she worked for Wells Fargo Bank. After 8 months in San Francisco she returned to Anaconda, the town she always believed was and would forever remain her home. On his birthday August 29, 1964 Mary Denise met Howard Thompson. The couple was married almost a year later on July 24, 1965 at St Paul's Church in Anaconda MT. This union of love was blessed with five daughters. A woman of faith and the heart of the Thompson family, Mary Denise shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example and also through various prayer groups and activities. Mary Denise loved to golf, read the bible, pray, exercise, play games/cards - especially 5 Crowns with her Grandchildren or her very dear friends, chat on the phone with friends and family and attend the sporting or scholastic events of her family - just to name a few. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and love of conversation, will never be forgotten. Mary Denise is survived by her husband of 50 years, Howard. Her daughters, Michelle (Fran) Gwin, Susie (Dave) Krueger, Nancy (Mike) Rogers, Jolyn (Kevin) Orrino, and Julianne (Tony) Huot. Grandchildren, Jake (Jessie) Orrino, Cory Orrino (Chelsie), Kailianna (Anthony) McCulloch, Alexis Krueger (Tony), Cara McNeil (Rex), Eleanor Krueger, Riley Rogers, Shelby McNeil, Zach Gwin, Sydni Rogers, Taylor Huot, Kristin Gwin and Kaden Huot. Great Grandchildren Ryan and Aaidyn. Brothers and Sister in-laws, John P (Gayle) Astle Jr., Bill (Joyce) Astle, Robert (Brigid) Astle, Mary Carol Astle, and Mary Jo Thompson. Other family members, "adopted" daughter #6 and her family, Keriann (Blaine) Knadler, Lacey and Khali, and many nieces and nephews cousins and special friends. Mary Denise was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Paul and David Astle. Visitation for family and friends will begin on Monday, April 4th at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 217 W. Pennsylvania, Anaconda MT 59711. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr Dougald McCallum at Holy Family Church on Tuesday, April 5th starting at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations can be made in Mary Denise's name to Anaconda Pintler Hospice, 118 E. 7th St., Ste. 1A, Anaconda, MT 59711. They were so wonderful to her as she made her way home to the Lord. "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promise to her" Luke 1:45
