Mary Ione (Rub) Meehan

Our Gracious Father called home a beautiful angel. Mom went home after a long, courageous battle of being sick. Mom was surrounded by family and her best friend, her husband Tim on August 1, 2021.

Mary Ione (Rub) Meehan was born August 14, 1952, to Phillips and Marion (Bensel) Rub in Billings, MT. Mom grew up in Bridger, MT until she was 3 years old. Her dad got a job working on the hill and the whole group moved to Lost Creek. Mom started school where she met her best friend and the love of her life, Tim Meehan.

Mom graduated high school in 1972. She went to work at the Nursing Home behind the courthouse during the morning and nursing school the other half of her day. Mom then went to work at Galen State Hospital until she retired in 1991. Mom married the love of her life, Tim Meehan in 1980. They had four children.

Mom enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and being with all the people she loved dearly. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed all the time she spent with her husband doing something or just nothing but being together. Mom chased my dad all over the playground while in school. My dad brought candy bars to school just for mom.

Mom collected bears and like gardening. She took up scrapbooking with a group of ladies. She loved all of you and she always had a blast, even if she completed what she was doing or not.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Marion Rub, in-laws Patrick and Christine Meehan, brother Phillip Rub II, grandparents Edmond and Edith Bensel, nephew Phillip Nebeker, aunt Millie O’such, cousin Robert O’such, brothers-in-law Patrick Meehan, Duane Logan, John Post and John Tate, sister-in-law Judy Meehan, cousin Michelle Meehan, aunt Rose Turner, cousins Ervin and Mary Lou Schmidt, great nephew Nathan Logan, aunts Margarette Baker and Mable Berger and three really good friends, Hewie and Bob Finigan and Vickie Smith.

Mary is survived by her husband Tim Meehan, daughters and sons-in-law Becky Meehan, Kathy and Chris Finigan, Tammy and Craig Kostad, son Tim Meehan Jr., brother Rick Rub, sisters and husband, Linda Tate, Margaret and Alvin Nebeker, sisters-in-law Kathy Logan and Christy Post, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Community Hospital of Anaconda and Physical Therapy. Also, the Billings Clinic staff, you all helped and cared for my mom, and we greatly appreciate all that you have done.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Revive Center, 416 E. 5th St., Anaconda, on Monday, August 9. 2021 at 1:00 p.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church. A reception will be held at the Washoe Park Pavilion following the services.
