Marvin A. Sletton, (71), of Anaconda, Montana passed away on July 28, 2023.
Marvin, fondly known as Marv, was born to Albert and Bertha Sletton, on May 13, 1952, in Anaconda, Montana. Marv's family stems from a mixture of European immigrants and indigenous peoples that rooted their family in Anaconda, Montana.
Marv followed his family of generational work at the Anaconda Smelter as a crane operator. He also worked as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator for various organizations. Later in his career, he became a prison guard at Warm Springs in Deer Lodge, Montana. Marv had a heart of gold and held many titles in his life from being a skilled contractor to an avid hunter & fisherman; but his all-time favorite roles were being a father and a grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family enjoying fishing, BBQ's and being outdoors.
While he left us far too soon, the impact of his legacy will be felt for years to come. Marv fought his battle against cancer and, despite spending much of his time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his journey, he made it a point to enjoy the time he had with his family, sharing stories, laughing, and telling jokes as often as possible. He had an incredible knack for making people smile and he will be greatly missed.
