Karen Moses Obituary

On the afternoon of March 12, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., Karen Moses passed away at the Bozeman Deaconess Regional Medical Center after struggling with health issue for many years, including heart disease, diabetes, and renal failure.  Karen was 66 years old.

Karen was born in Anaconda on June 29, 1957.  She was the second child to Helen Louise (Olsgaard) and Mel L. Klemann.

Karen attended school in Anaconda and graduated from Anaconda Senior High in 1975. When she was younger, she helped deliver newspapers with her siblings and later became a candy striper. Other jobs included tax preparer at H&R Block and then Karen moved on to become the bookkeeper at Osco Drug and eventually became Supervisor and Pharmacy Technician for CVS.

Karen was born into the Lutheran Church and later became an active member at the Presbyterian Church for many years as an Elder and Deacon. She loved being a Sunday School Teacher and being a part of Vacation Bible School. Other groups Karen was involved with include the Anaconda Choral Society, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Girl Scouts and the Young Impressions.  She enjoyed singing, reading, cross stitching and being with her family.

Karen married the love of her life and soulmate, James D. Moses, on May 8, 1976. They went on to have three wonderful children together, whom she loved unconditionally.

Karen was very kind and caring to everyone she met.  She was very humble and didn’t like anyone to make a fuss over her. She was an extraordinary woman who lifted up everyone around her and spent her entire life caring for anyone who came near her, more concerned about the welfare of others than herself. She was beautiful and smart and such a joy to be around. Karen was understanding and a great listener.  She was also empathetic but stern. She always pushed her children and grandchildren to be their best selves and was very proud of all of them. She was a beacon of light and love and will be missed by everyone she touched.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Mel and Helen Klemann, sister Pamela Klemann, brother John Klemann, grandson Mike Bentcik and in-laws Wilbur and Shirley Moses.

Karen is survived by her husband James D. Moses; daughter Jaclyn (Danny) Price; sons Allyn Moses, Brandon Moses, James D. Moses II, and Paul Moses-Strasko; brothers Jim (Diane) Klemann and Wayne Klemann; sister Susan (Klemann) Ford; grandchildren Hope (Tim) Johnston Paetzel, Caitlyn (Isaac) Cowley, Connor Price, Hayden Price, Timothy (Ashley) Moses, A.J. Moses, Arianna Moses, Landon Moses and Taeryn Moses; great-grandchildren Paisley Reap, Paisley’s baby sister (on the way) Paetzel, and Mark Anthony Cowley; along with numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Karen will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear how much we love and miss you and wish that you were here.
