Josephine "Jo" Hafer Obituary

Josephine Monica Hafer age 82 passed away on October 22, 2021. She was born December 14, 1938, in Cashmere, Washington to Joseph and Mary Wandler. Shortly after high school she married her first husband Edward L. Sokolich and together they had son Bob Sokolich. Ed and Josephine divorced in 1966. Josephine met the love of her life David "Dick" Hafer and they married on January 27th, 1973. Josephine and Dick had many happy years together until his death December 17th, 2000.

Josephine was a switchboard operator, worked in the bakery at Buttrey's, a waitress at the Park Café which she spoke of often she loved that job and told stories all the time about the fun she had working there with her coworkers and customers. She also ran the Copper Bowl restaurant for several years. After her years of service in the food industry she attended Cosmetology school and opened her own beauty shop called The Fashion Flair, she attended school in Scottsdale, Arizona to become an electrolysis to add to her list of making people beautiful. It has been said many times that in her prime Josephine was one of the most beautiful ladies in Anaconda. She always loved to dress to the nines and look her best. Josephine also owned a children's clothing store then opened a women's clothing store in Anaconda. Once that closed, she made the decision to retire and spent her time enjoying life. The definition of enjoying life for her was cleaning her house there was never a speck of dust or dirt on the floor in her house she was passionate about a clean house, and it showed as her house was always in tip top shape. She also loved to cook and have large family gatherings. Christmas was her favorite time of year she loved cooking meals fit for a king and enough to feed an army. There were many holidays spend with family and new friends or friends without family she hated to see anyone spend the holidays alone and she made sure no one left her house hungry. She was an extremely giving person.

Her son Bob Sokolich was her world!! Her love for him was immeasurable and unconditional.

She truly lived her life for him and did everything in her power to make sure he has a happy life. Bob and Josephine were pretty much inseparable and had loads of fun together. So many happy memories were made and will be cherished forever.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Dick Hafer, her parents Joseph and Mary Wandler, bothers Wilbur and Marty Wandler, nephews Charles and Raymond Wandler, great nephew Chuck Wandler and brother-in-law Tommy Hafer.
