Josephine Colucci Obituary

Josephine A. Colucci (Josie), passed away on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula at the age of 78. She was born in Harlowton, Montana on July 26th, 1935 to John and Bambina Orrino. Josephine grew up in Anaconda and attended St. Paul's grade school and was a proud member of the Anaconda Central Class of 1953. She married John L. Colucci at St. Paul's Church in Anaconda on May 16th, 1956 and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his passing on February 28th, 1999.
Josie worked as an office manager for the Anaconda J.C. Penney store for 27 years before it's closing and then for the Town Pump for an additional 22 years, where she became a fixtured friend and a smiling face to hundreds passing through those doors. She was a volunteer for the Community Hospital of Anaconda where she greeted patients and families on Wednesdays; she was a member of the Advisory Board for the SW Montana Credit Union; and, she served on the board for the Opportunity Community Club where she has been a resident for over 53 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds. She enjoyed baking and cooking and especially making Italian dinners. Most of all, she relished spending time with her children and daughter-in-law and her family and friends in the Anaconda community. She was an avid Copperhead fan and rooted for the Montana Grizzlies. She loved to listen to the games on the radio and cheering for her nieces and nephews.
Josephine is survived by her daughter Lynda Colucci of Pasadena, CA and her son Vince Colucci and daughter-in-law Kathy Dahood of Missoula; sister-in-law Marlene Orrino Corrigan; numerous nieces and nephews including Toni Ann (Steve) Flack , John (Nancy) Orrino, Kevin (JoLyn) Orrino, and Bob (Theresa) Orrino. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Tony Orrino along with numerous aunts and uncles.
Our Mom will be greatly missed by her family, co-workers, and friends with whom she laughed, gossiped, and socialized every day and every week. Her smile and warm heart touched many and will be remembered fondly by all.
A Vigil service will be held on Monday at 6pm at St. Peter's Church in Anaconda. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 12:00 pm with a Funeral Mass at 2pm at St. Peter's with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the Orrino family plot and next to her husband John. Friends and family are requested to join us in the celebration of Josie's life at the Opportunity Community Club following burial about 4pm.
The family requests donations be made to the International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation at Providence St. Patrick Medical Center in Missoula http://www.ihimontana.org/Foundation where the healthcare providers and staff provided Josie with the best of care and compassion. A very special thank you is extended to Dr. Brad Berry, Dr. Bill Bekemeyer, Dr. Casey Kolendich, and Dr. Pete Szekely for their expertise and care.
