Joseph George Mihelic

Joseph G. Mihelic passed away peacefully at his residence on September 23, 2016. He was born in Anaconda MT, June 16, 1937 to Joe and Ruby Mihelic. He was raised with his two sisters Mary Rose Nielsen and Catherine Everhard. Joe attended local schools Saint Peters and Anaconda Central High School, and served as an Altar boy at Saint Peters Church. He graduated from Anaconda Central High School in 1955 and went on to work at the BAP Railroad for a few years. In 1960 he left the railroad to pursue an apprenticeship as a Boilermaker with the Anaconda Company.

On October 20, 1956, Joe married Mary Jo Rebish, they had three children: Joseph R. Mihelic (Sharon), Michael G. Mihelic (Karie), Diane M. Klemann (Jim). In 1972 Joe and Mary Jo Mihelic purchased the A&W Drive Inn, M.J. Boutique and Huggy Bears Bar and Restaurant and numerous rentals. The M.J. Boutique and Huggy Bear where sold in 1987. Joe continued to run the A&W as Joe's place. And in 1993 Joe married Jane Ross and continued to run Joe's Place until his retirement in 2009.

Joe was a member of the Anaconda Elks Club, National Guard, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, and Anaconda Central High School Band. Joe loved working on cars, snowmobiling, camping and his last project 1994 ford ranger pickup but his biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L and Ruby Mihelic, Mary Jo Mihelic-Miller, Jane Mihelic, Bob Everhard, and Gilbert Forwood. He is survived by his two sisters Catherine Everhard, Mary Rose Nielsen (Jerry) and children Joe R. Mihelic (Sharon), Michael G. Mihelic (Karie), Diane M. Klemann (Jim) grandchildren : Kristy Drake(Tyrell), Joe A Mihelic (Lisa), Dustin Klemann (Aja ), and Kassie Klemann (James). Great grandchildern: Valon, Aurelia, Deacon Drake and Ciara Mihelic.

Joe (Dad) will be sadly missed by all that have had the pleasure of knowing him. In Joe's words thanks kids!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full Military Honors.
