John Storey

Obituary

John Storey passed away on February 11, 2022 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born on July 25, 1943 in Deer Lodge, MT to John and Marjorie Storey of Anaconda. John grew up in Anaconda and attended local schools. He was an avid outdoorsman and fished and hunted at an early age.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1969. He served two tours in Viet Nam, one with the First Cavalry Division and the second with the 101st Airborne. He received various award and decorations that include the Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Combat Operations.

John worked various jobs including Savenac Tree Nursery at Haugen, MT and for the railroad in Sandpoint, ID.

John is survived by sisters Eileen Dill (Otto) and Betty Ricci (Don) and brothers Tom Storey (Carmen) and Tim Storey, as well as numerous nieces and a nephew. Private burial services with military honors will be at a later date.
