Irene Voyles Obituary

Irene Marie “Enee” Sedminik Voyles passed away on December 14, 2023, at Anaconda Community Hospital.  She had been visited and comforted by her family.

Irene was a beautiful girl, born to parents John and Annaleise (Meier) Sedminik, on February 10, 1951.  She was educated at St. Paul’s and graduated from Anaconda Central High.  After high school she attended The Butte Academy of Beauty.  Irene lived and worked in Great Falls for a short time, then returned home to work at Thrifty Drug.  She loved working there with the Richards family, and her new best friend “Andy”.  She had other long-time family members Gordon and Karen Hom. She had a longtime friend Nancy Corkish.

Irene met the love of her life, Frank Voyles, after being introduced by their mothers, who were friends of German descent.  Frank and Irene married on August 2, 1981.  They lived in Butte for awhile then moved back to Anaconda to be closer to family.  Family meant everything to Irene.

Irene was a fun loving, social butterfly. She loved shopping and was so generous to everyone. The entire family traveled to Las Vegas, Vancouver, Nashville, and Canada every year. Seeing Elvis in the front row in Las Vegas was the highlight of her life. Her parents and brother went to Germany for 3 months to visit her mom’s sisters and brother. There they experienced the Oktoberfest and they traveled to where the Olympics were held. They also visited Amsterdam, Hollan and Innsbruck, Australia. She also enjoyed their yearly trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, visiting China town. She loved the annual family reunions. Irene loved to bake birthday cakes for family and friends. She loved taking care of people. When her mom passed away, she was the person her dad relied on with the help of her brother John “Sudsy” Sedminik.

When her niece Jessica had her first child Cooper, Irene was so excited and loved him so much. Irene, along with John and Sue, are awaiting a second child to be born in February.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law Roy Voyles.

She is survived by brother John (Sue) Sedminik, nephew John Michael Sedminik, niece Jessica (Steve) Stevens, great nephew Cooper Ryan Stevens, She is also survived by her uncles Ed (Pat) Sedminik, and Charlie ( Nancy) Sedminik and a special cousin Button Zeier. And long-time special friend Isaak (Ike) Wurtz. She was also survived by numerous cousins here and in Germany.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark, Dr. Cook, nurses, and staff of Anaconda Community Hospital for their kind and compassionate care and the Anaconda Fire Department and Ambulance crew for their help this past year. A special thanks to Sandra Glenn.
