Ezra Robert Gentry, 19, of Philipsburg, MT passed away Monday, March 21, 2022. Ezra was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on May 12, 2002, to John Robert Gentry and Charlene Bucha where he joined big brother, Tyler John Gentry. From the beginning, Ezra’s determination and gentle soul was evident to those who met him. While his stubbornness was also evident, there was never any doubt as to how deeply he cared. Ezra was an active child and grew into an active young man who loved working with his hands, figuring out problems, deciphering how things worked and learning how things were built. His playful smile and witty comments would always lift the spirits of everyone around him. His sense of adventure showed through most in his love for motorsports. Ezra was happiest riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles up in the mountains with friends. Whether he was zipping up mountains, weaving between trees (or testing the integrity of the tree) or burying a machine in the snow, he always had a smile on his face. An apprentice in the Montana Carpenters Local Union No. 82, Ezra fit right in with the Journeyman on his crew who called him “Ezzy”. Ezra worked hard and played hard. He was a bright light and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Ezra is survived by his parents, John Robert Gentry (Theresa) and Charlene Bucha (Mike Hayes); older brother, Tyler John Gentry; grandparents Harry and Diana Bucha and Robert Phillip Gentry. Aunts and uncles Bud Gentry, Beth (David) Gould, and Glen (Kristy) Bucha. Cousins Jamie (Shota), Maura (Aeden and Emma), Nick (Leah), and Evan (Sloan). The Hayes family and his close friends Jamie Scharsu and Geoff Griffith. Preceded in death by grandmother DeeDee Gentry.
