Obituary for Dennis Barclay
Dennis Barclay, 78, passed away April 8, 2013 at the St. Patrick Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born September 3, 1934 in McHenry, North Dakota to Kreston and June (Bruner) Barclay. Dennis was the fourth of nine children. At the age of 16 Dennis went to work for the BA&P Railroad before joining the US Navy. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Dennis spent the next 38 years working for the BA&P and Rarus railroads, retiring in 1996. Dennis also bartended for many years for his brother John at Barclay's Bar. After retiring, Dennis spent his days golfing with his brothers.
On January 12, 1963, Dennis married the love of his life Linda (Ahlin) Barclay. In January 2013, Dennis and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family at Barclay 2. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Scott, Brad, Toni Ann and Steve.
Dennis enjoyed his morning coffee with his daughter Toni Ann, visits from his sons Scott and Steve and the morning phone calls to his sisters and brothers. His joys were watching his grandchildren playing sports and "baby Ayden" days when he would spend the afternoon with his great grandson Ayden. Dennis is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Toni Ann, sons Scott (Peggy) and Steve (Karrie), grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kirsten, Jayce and Ayden Barclay, Jessie, Herb, Haylie and Hannah Selvidge, Courtney and Adrianna, and his "other kids" Gary and Dianne Jacobs. He is also survived by his sisters Betty Williams and Lenora Tuttle and brothers John, Tom (Delores), Rich (Sue), Bob, Greg (Marilyn - his special caregiver), brothers-in-law Gilmer Reich, Tom (Gladys) Ahlin, Dick (Punky) Ahlin and sister-in-law Karen Cross and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dennis is preceded in death by his son Brad (Bubba) Barclay, sister Delores Barclay Reich, brothers-in-law Bud and Chet Ahlin, and Bob Cross, his parents and many uncles, nephews and cousins.
Dennis will be greatly missed by everyone that loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Mick Gee Scholarship Fund at First Montana Bank.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the Hope Lutheran Church in Anaconda on Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral and Cremation Services is entrusted with Dennis' services.
