Darlene K. Riesland, 91, of Anaconda, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Community Nursing Home of Anaconda where she had resided for the past year.
She was born April 18, 1927 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Floyd and Kathryn Goergen Caffee, the eldest of six children. Darlene graduated from Wess. Spring High School in 1945 and went on to get her teaching degree. She taught at country schools until she met the love of her life, Bud Riesland, and was married on June 28th, 1948 in Wessington Springs. They were married for 58 years until his passing in 2006. Out of this union were three children; Linda, Kay and Randy.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also loved working church funeral luncheons, the VFW, going to bingo and having lunch at the center. She loved to embroider, play cards, cook and bake. Darlene and Bud loved to dance as often as they could.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband Bud Riesland.
She is survived by her three children; Linda Klanecky (Gene), Kay Darlington (Joe) and Randy Riesland, her grandchildren Scott Klanecky, Chad Klanecky (Christine), Janelle Robinson (Howard), Kim Silex, Stephanie Shetler (Dan) and Shawn Mohan as well as 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the mass at the church.
