Charles “Charlie” Philips Jr.
On the evening of November 10th, 2022 Charlie passed away peacefully of natural causes in Anaconda, MT. Charlie was born in Anaconda on June 12th 1954. He was the second child of Billie Ann & Charlie Philips Sr.
Charlie lived most his life in Anaconda. He lived a short while in Helena right after high school where he owned a gas station. He then moved back to Anaconda and worked on the smelter. Once the smelter shut down, he went to work as a prison guard in Deer Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching football.
He is preceded in death by his mother Billie Ann Bacon, father Charles Philips Sr, and brother Thomas Philips. He is survived in death by his siter Nancy Sturm and niece Michelle Sturm.
A graveside service for Charles will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at New Hill Cemetery, Stumptown Road, Anaconda, MT. Immediately following the graveside service, a reception will be held at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall, 321-323 E. Commercial St., Anaconda, MT.
Special thanks to everyone at Community Hospital of Anaconda and Community Nursing Home of Anaconda in Charlie’s final days. And very special thanks to Charlie Strong for all you have done in his final days. Charlie will be missed greatly but is now at peace.
