Carla Byrd
March 4, 1948 - April 28, 2018
The angels greeted Carla Byrd on April 28 at her peaceful home in Maxville.
Carla was born March 4, 1948 in Conrad, to Chuck and Laura Stevenson. She was raised in Great Falls.
Carla was a proud Bobcat and a graduate of Montana State University.
While married to Tom McKinney, Carla was blessed with two children, Brett and Erin. In 1997 Carla met and married George Byrd. That is when she moved to her slice of paradise in Maxville. She loved the community and the many close friendships she held dear.
Carla is survived by her husband, George, her son, Brett (Mylea), grandchildren Taylor, Madison and Zoe of Meridian, Idaho, a daughter, Erin (Michael), and grandchildren Jayden and Kenzie of Billings.
She will be greatly missed by her sisters Susie (Dave), Deb (Rene), and Sandy (Mark) and many of her well-loved nieces and nephews. Carla is preceded in death by her parents and her best friend and brother, Jay Stevenson.
Carla especially cherished her bridge club friends. She was a member of Unity Church where she studied A Course in Miracles which became the foundation of her faith. She was gifted at bringing people together and cooking incredible meals.
Carla's sudden passing will forever leave a void in the lives of her family and friends. Please know her love and spirit live on and will forever be a part of the lives she touched.
Services for Carla will be held this Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Granite County Museum in Philipsburg. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
