Anna Walker Obituary

Anna Katherine (See) Walker of Anaconda, MT passed peacefully on Nov 1st, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.  Anna was born March 25th, 1933, in her Grandparents home in Cascade, MT to Forest and Sadie See. Mom grew up in Cascade, she was a tomboy, climbing trees and playing basketball. She was one of the first female stat takers for the boys’ basketball team in high school. She spent most of her summers at her Aunt Doris and Uncle Dick’s farm in Pendroy, MT milking cows, driving tractors, wheat trucks, delivering milk and cream and cooking during harvest.

She graduated valedictorian of her class at Cascade High School in 1951. Mom was a Saint (passing on All Saints Day), always caring for others in her life. Fitting that she attended The Columbus School of Nursing in Great Falls, MT and spending her career as a Registered Nurse at Warm Springs State Hospital and Community Hospital of Anaconda wearing her white uniform and nurse’s cap until she retired in 1997. In her retirement years, she helped at the Metcalf Center taking blood pressure. She spent her entire life caring for others. NURSES ARE TRULY THE BEST!!!!!

She met Billy Walker while doing her training at Warm Springs State Hospital when he and a friend went out on a blind date. Billy told his buddy John Stergar that night that she is the one he is going to marry. They married a year and a day later on February 19, 1955. To this marriage, six wild and crazy kids came along (another reason she is a Saint). Ron, Karen, Roger, Kathy, Kim and Russ. Better known as the 3 R’s and 3 K’s. Anna and Billy spent many years supporting their family in school events and other activities as well as camping with great friends and trips to Canada and the West Coast. Holidays at the Walker home were always filled with love, great food, and good times. It was rare that all of us were not together during the Holidays. We all looked forward to her handmade ornaments each year. Some years she was extra busy during the Holiday making and stitching beautiful Christmas stockings for the newest grandchild or great grandchild.

After the kids were grown, Anna and Billy spent many years traveling and visiting family and friends and building a home at Georgetown Lake for all our family to enjoy. After Billy passed Mom enjoyed walking, golfing, bowling and shuffleboard with her children.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Billy in 2001. Her parents, sister Betty Lou (George) McDonald, brother John See, in-laws Nona and Frank Rooney, Vera and Dick Daniels, Blaine and Jean Walker, Verla and Chub Blakley, Glen Walker, Mickey Walker, Maxine and Yonk Spraycar and great grandson Max Kufner.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ron & Micheal Walker, Karen and Mike O’Neill, Roger Walker, Kathy and Sean Schulte, Kim and Jeff Baustadt and Russell Walker.  Grandchildren, Dameon Fonk (Melissa), Devin and Savannah Walker, Katie and Jack Woldtvedt, Hannah and Rory Burelson, Madison and Dalton Heaton, Shannon and Jeromy Morley, Seanna and Chris Zacher, Patrick Schulte, Whitney Baustadt (Will Hensleigh), Sadie Sawyer, Brianna Clark, and Albert Clark.
