Agnes Mricich Obituary

Agnes Margaret Schmidt Maricich passed away September 3, 2016.

Agnes was born January 30,1929 to Fred and Margaret (Skalsky) Schmidt in Sidney, Montana.
When she was 7, the family moved to Stevensville, Montana. The family moved to Anaconda March of 1943. She attended schools in Stevensville and Anaconda.

She married Peter Maricich August 4, 1947 in St. Paul's Catholic Church after finishing school. Peter and Agnes had two children Val Managhan and Rock Maricich. She worked at the Anaconda bakery and the El Rancho Drive Inn in Opportunity. Agnes also worked 25 years at the Warms Springs State Hospital, first as an aide, then in 1968 she became an LPN. She worked as a relief supervisor and retired in 1980.

She was a member of St. Peter's and Holy Family Church, Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary and Funeral Luncheon committee.

Agnes touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. She spent much of her time with her great grandchildren, traveling to Worley with her family, and visiting with her beloved friends. You would never see Agnes without being surrounded with great friends including Marilyn Anderson, Bill & Carol, and Diane.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Peter in 2003, her parents, three brothers, Nick, Leo, and Richard Schmidt, two infant sisters and also sisters Ann Ostafin, Irene Larson, Lorraine McGrew, & Florence Ternes.

Agnes is survived by a daughter Val and son-in-law Gary Managhan of Helena, a son Rock and daughter-in-law Cindy Maricich of Butte, a granddaughter Sadie Maricich Ellingson and her husband Eric as well as their two children Kaiden and Kamryn of Butte; brother Larry Schmidt and sister in law Sheila Schmidt of Kennewick, WA; sister in law Kay Schmidt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 9th at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Anaconda. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church with Rosary being lead at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Family Church or St. Peters Church.
