Yvonne "Vonnie" Haeffner

Yvonne (Vonnie) Sharon Haeffner passed away at home on November 6, 2018 in Anaconda, Mt. after a courageous battle with cancer. Yvonne was born in Minot, North Dakota on May 20, 1941 to George and Marie (Mongeon) Waidt and was the younger of two children. At the age of 4 her family moved to Fargo, ND where she later graduated from Fargo High School. On January 17, 1959, Yvonne married Charles Haeffner in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Kankakee, IL, then moved to Marion, IN and eventually to Anaconda, MT in 1967 where they have truly made it their home. While raising her sons, Yvonne was active in the PTA, Cub Scouts and the Anaconda Ski Club, and was a member of the local Chamber of Commerce. Yvonne began her insurance career with Eide Insurance in the mid 1970's. In 1985, she became an Agent for Prudential Insurance and retired in 1995. She then went back to work as an agent with her son, Scott at Mile High Insurance until 2001 when she fully retired. Yvonne was also the Headquarters Chairman of the Anaconda Centennial in 1983. Yvonne was a classy and elegant lady. She was the strong bond of the family-always planning holiday parties and making birthday and anniversary dinners special. She also enjoyed entertaining and cooking in her home. Yvonne thoroughly enjoyed the holidays knowing that it would bring her family and friends together. She loved our family picnics in the mountains, family and friends' ski trips and time at the lake in Minnesota. Yvonne also enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge and spending time visiting with her many friends. Yvonne is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Charlie of 59yrs; two sons: Chuck (Mara) and Scott (Georgann); Grandchildren: Colton, Carlie and August; Sister: Beverly Lein of Fargo, ND. Mass of Christian Burial for Yvonne "Vonnie" Haeffner will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
