On the morning of December 9th, 2023, Woodrow passed away at his home in Anaconda, Montana with his loving wife, Dixie, by his side. He was 80 years old.
Woodrow was born to Woodrow Morgan Sr. & Juanita Morgan on February 19th, 1943, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was the first-born son & the oldest of 3 children.
Woodrow grew up in Omaha Nebraska with his brother, Vince & his sister Portia until he was 12. They then moved to California. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1962. He was on the varsity football team. Shortly after he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corp. He was in the Marine Corp from 1962 to 1966 when he was honorably discharged. He received a 2-year college education while in the Marine Corp & became an Electronics Technician. He worked 19 years as an Electronics Technician in the Silicon Valley.
He owned a bright green Lotus & talked about it often when telling stories about his early years. This was just one of the many memories that his grandchildren talk about. He also would talk about the MG that he had as a teenager. He needed to go to the parts store to get three bolts for it, he only had enough money for 2 bolts & a bus ticket home. He bought the three bolts & then walked home about 25 miles. He was always a very determined man…
In the early 1990’s Woodrow moved back to Omaha Nebraska & met Dixie. They instantly connected. They lived in Nebraska until they moved to Arizona to be closer to his father. After his father passed & Woodrow retired in 2005, they moved to Anaconda, Montana. They chose Anaconda by placing a map on the table, closing their eyes & using pens to pinpoint the area they were moving to. They both ended up in the same area on the map & decided on Anaconda due to its mountainous region & population.
A few years later their daughters & their families followed. This is where the family grew & enjoyed the wonderful, strong, funny, honest & loving man they call PawPaw.
He enjoyed walking through town carrying his “Authority Stick” & wearing his Stetson hat while visiting along the way. He was always very friendly & bright. He enjoyed an occasional Jack on the Rocks or a Heineken beer with his dinner. He enjoyed listening to Jazz and smoking his cigars. He loved his church & watching the World News. He was very involved in the Marine Corp League & Toys for Tots. Most of all Family was his passion.
Woodrow was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Morgan Sr. & his mother Juanita Morgan.
Woodrow is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Dixie Morgan. His daughters & their spouses, Brenda & Brent Martin, & Angela Hamar & Mike Weaver. His grandchildren & their spouses, Justin Lintner, Bentley & Jennifer Rodgers, Anthony & Melissa Beaver, Michael & Aimee Martin, Arianna Hamar, & Jeremiah Bowen.
