Winona Anna Peterson

Winona Anna Peterson died on Monday, December 30, 2013 in Butte at the age of 98. She was born in Deer Lodge, Montana on September 27, 1915 to David and Minnie (Hanson) Norton. She married Roy Peterson on September 22, 1935 in Yuma, Arizona and together they raised their two sons. Winona worked at the Montana State Hospital in Recreation and running the Cantina for many years. Roy preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her brother David Norton. Winona is survived by her sons; Richard Peterson of Anaconda and David Peterson of Kenniwick, Washington along with 3 grandchildren. She enjoyed walking, reading mysteries, and traveling. She was able to visit Hawaii and New York City. At her request, no services will be held. Contributions may be made to the Shriner's or to Pintler Pets.
