William "Bill" Smith

William "Bill" Smith, 76, Anaconda, died September 11, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born August 17, 1938 in Sheridan, Montana to Leo and Ruby (Bryant) Smith. He grew up in Whitehall and joined the US Army in 1963. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Bill worked for the Anaconda Company for many years, for Anaconda Deer Lodge County Cemetery Department for many years and for Leo Nichol's Potato Seed Farm as a side job. Bill enjoyed spending time at his favorite local taverns visiting his friends. Bill is survived by his daughter Terry, his four step-children; James Sheline of Spanaway, WA, Harold Sheline of Shelton,W A, Barb Sheline of Shelton, WA, George Sheline of Ft. Carson, CO, his dear friends; John Boy and Nancy Rangitsch, Cathy Jetty and Bob Finnegan, and all of his special friends at the spud farm. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm at New Hill Cemetery with military honors. A picnic will follow at Washoe Park BBQ area.
