William "Billy John Warren Nordholm

William (Billy) Nordholm passed away on July 1st, 2023 as a result of an ATV accident. He was 44. Billy was born June 8th, 1979 in Butte, MT to Theresa Nordholm and Bill Nordholm of Anaconda. He married Rachael Barnes of Helena in 2007 and they were blessed with a son in 2010. Rachael and Billy later divorced but remained friends to co-parent their son Miles.

At the time of his death, he worked as a foreman for Pioneer Cement in Butte, MT but during his short lifetime wore a variety of work “hats” that took him on all sorts of adventures. He worked on farms in his late teenage years and made sushi in a Japanese restaurant. He obtained his CDL and held down many driving jobs including working in the oil fields of Eastern Montana, driving a route around the Pacific Northwest for a scrap metal company, and delivering food products to many businesses around the state of Montana.

The most important “hat” that Billy wore was being a father to his 13-year-old son Miles, whom he loved tremendously and shared many adventures with. Billy was an avid lover of the outdoors and a die-hard fan of the state of Montana and took special interest in the history of the travels of Lewis and Clark. He loved it so much so that he mapped out visits and overnight camping trips for an entire summer to Lewis and Clark landmarks throughout the state for him and Miles to visit every weekend they were together. Bill and Miles spent a lot of their time together camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, driving to mountain lakes, and exploring areas around Butte and Anaconda. Bill liked to document his life and was always taking pictures or videos of everything and everyone around him. He especially liked collecting interesting rocks that he found throughout his journeys.

Billy’s lifelong friends were important to him and he was a friend to many. He befriended people no matter where they were in life, without judgement, and liked having the company of others around him. He had close friends throughout the state of Montana and would often travel to visit them.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Wilfred Nordholm and Marge McLane of Anaconda, Terry and John Patota of Florida, and aunt Noreen (Nordholm) Rice of Anaconda.

He is survived by his parents (Bill and Theresa); son Miles Nordholm of Helena; sister Sheri (Fred) Richards of Massachusetts; nephew Devon Kellner of Anaconda; niece Madison Richards of Massachusetts and a biological daughter (Sydney) and granddaughter (Audie-May) of Anaconda.

A private family service will be held at Billy’s final resting spot.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in his son’s name (Miles Nordholm) at Glacier Bank.
