Walter Frank Smith passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 27, 2014. Frank was born July 21, 1936, in Great Falls, Montana to Myrtle (Hunter) and Walter B. Smith. He graduated from Three Forks High School in 1954 and went on to complete his bachelor degree in industrial arts from Montana State in Bozeman and Western Montana College in Dillon. Frank worked in several lumber yards from 1960-2005, becoming the owner of A-1 Building Materials in 1979, retiring in 2005.
  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. Frank was a member of the Anaconda Elks Lodge. He was a true Bobcat and Green Bay Packers fan. But most of all he loved and enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends. This was his biggest joy in life.
  Frank is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Trerise) Smith, daughters; Terri and Jill, sons; Ed (Karen), Rick, Jeff (LeeAnn), his sister; Ann Cazier, grandchildren; Jamie(Charlie) Farmer, Mandy (Alex) Calderon, Kurt Clawson, Greg (Annie) Smith, Kim Smith, Kayla Smith, Justin (Schelby) Smith, Paige and Ryan Smith, his great-grandchildren; Tyler and Billy Farmer, Sophia, Haley, and Gabriel Calderon, and Chance Smith, and many, nieces, nephews, and friends.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Walter B. Smith, his in-laws; Ted and Ann Trerise, sister-in-law Darlene Holbrook, and brother-in-law LaGrand Cazier.
  Frank led a successful life filled with many cherished memories. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Longfellow Finnegan Funeral Home.
  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30th at 3:00 p.m. at the Anaconda Presbyterian Church with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park.
