VIRGINIA "Ginny" O'BRIEN, 68
Ginny died Saturday, August 20, at the Deer Lodge Care and Rehab Center after a long battle with cancer.
Ginny was born in Anaconda on August l0 th, 1949, to Gerald and Thelma (Weir) O'Brien. She attended Anaconda schools and graduated from Anaconda Senior High in 1967. After graduation, she attended Butte Business College. She began working at the Public Health and, Human Services Dept. in Anaconda in 1968, as an Eligibility Technician. This was the ideal job for Ginny, considering her kind and compassionate nature towards people in need. She retired in 2003 after many years of dedicated service.
She married Ken Kovacich in 1969 and they had one daughter, Jodie. She and Ken divorced in 1976. She then met Gary Satterlee and they were together from 1976-2003. Her current companion and soulmate was Louis Thorson.
Ginny was both compassionate and honest. She was known for her love of animals and her willingness to help any person in need. She loved books, and she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed photography and listening to music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Lonnie O'Brien.
She is survived by her soul mate, Louis Thorson; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodie (Mark) Housel of Dillon, Montana; sisters and brother-in-law, Cheri (Rick) Golie of Floweree, Montana, Pam O'Brien and Geralyn O'Brien (Dan Ocana) both of Anaconda; brothers and sister-in-law, David (Deborah) O'Brien of Edina, Minnesota, and Ron O'Brien of Anaconda; two grandchildren, Delainey and Kenzie Housel of Dillon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
