Virginia Carol Dougan (Praast, Fox) passed away on June 21, 2026, at age 81, in her home.
She was born July 23, 1944, in Keiser, Arkansas. Her Parents moved to Anaconda, MT, where she was raised with her siblings.
She graduated from Anaconda High School in 1962. She married Paul Praast in 1962, and they had 3 children together: Patty, Allen, and Cathy. She spent her life in many places as an insurance agent, and she loved working at New Direction Group Home, caring for others.
Virginia, known as Ginny, was remembered for her love of family, cooking, baking, sharing recipes, the Broncos, bowling, and devotion to the lord. She attended AA and took it very seriously. She was proud of her sobriety and how God saved her life on October 27, 1985.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Jim Dougan; parents, Lottie and MC Fox; siblings, Darris and Dorris; son, Allen Praast; granddaughter, J'da Lemm; and great-granddaughter, Angel Blackburn.
She is survived by daughters Patty Wine and Cathy Elfstrom ; sisters Nona Agostinelli, Ruth Meyer, and Bobbie Peterson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great- granddaughter, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on August 7th, 2026, at Washoe Park under the pavilion at 11:30 am. To celebrate the life of Ginny, the family asks that you bring a story to share or any of your favorite dishes to share at a potluck-style celebration. Please bring chairs for your own comfort if needed.
