Truman D. Duncan Sr., 76, of Anaconda, died on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Crest Nursing Home in Butte. Truman was born on July 13, 1944 to Albert W. and Mary L. Duncan in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Truman’s life was exciting growing up with seven brothers and two sisters.
Following high school, Truman attended the Police Academy. His career led him to the Michigan State Patrol, Secret Service, long trip truck driving and a Security Police Company, among many other things in between and afterwards. Truman was proud of his accomplishments no matter how big or small.
Truman met and married his wife, Colleen, in Loveland, CO. They were devoted to one another. They enjoyed fishing, walking, traveling and to experience new adventures and projects together.
Truman was a faithful member of the Anaconda Catholic Community Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council 882, Fourth Degree. Truman enjoyed helping set up for luncheons and other social events for the parish. He had genuine interest in helping others and being involved in the community.
Truman is preceded in death by his parents, Albert W. and Mary L. Duncan, seven brothers and two sisters.
Truman is survived by his wife Collen, two sons, Truman Dwight Jr. (Debbie) and Robert Lynn (Susan) Duncan, all of Loveland, CO. Truman is also survived by his five stepchildren, Patricia Sharp, Tina Stevens, John Simon, Theresa Rea and Celina Schmidt, 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Michigan who will deeply miss him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.
