Timothy Allen Lofing Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2024. Tim was born the youngest boy of 5 children on a small farm in Columbus, Montana on January 29th, 1944, to Alex and Marie Lofing. He worked for the smelter in Anaconda, Montana until 1980 and became a pipefitter and welder until retirement. He was well respected as a master welder in his trade and as an artist in his own right.
Tim (aka LOF) thrived in the wilderness, taking the entire family on outdoor adventures including hunting elk, moose, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, deer, turkeys, birds, as well as fishing, and morel mushroom hunting. He loved spending quality time with his children and grandchildren, they brought great joy to his heart. He was a significant member of Hope Lutheran Church and built community though tying flies every Tuesday, with other members.
He always had a great spirit, loved to laugh, and shared his love for beautiful music with everyone.
Timothy is survived by his son, Timothy Lofing Jr.; and his grandchildren, Skylar Lofing, Timothy Raine Lofing, Sienna Lofing, and Nazaree Lofing.
Timothy is preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 58 yrs, Joanne; his daughter, Tina; brothers, Alex, Richard, and Rodger; and his sister, Connie.
Tim will be greatly missed by friends and family. He has truly touched many lives. A special thanks goes out to hospice; they are truly angels.
