Terrance R. Johnson

Terry was born October 23, 1946 and entering heavens gates on April 28, 2013, both in Anaconda, MT. Parents are Dorothy Stone Johnson and Alfred (Swede) Johnson. He graduated from Anaconda High School in 1965. He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam in 1966-67 as a helicopter crew chief for a dust off medivac unit. Terry started his working career on the garbage truck in high school (very proud of it). After his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked at the Anaconda Company Smelter, Atlantic Richfield and retired from AFFCO in January 2012, after being a machinist for 43 years, 32 of those years at AFFCO. He was a very skillful machinist; he mentored, as he was, many new machinists the proper way of the trade over the years. He married Sharon Martin on August 12, 1967, in Anaconda after a few weeks returning from Vietnam. From this 45 years of a loving marriage are 3 children: Randall, Anaconda; Cara Benton (Darren), Billings; Kevin (girlfriend, Catie Moden) (Missoula). He was always there for his children and so very proud of them and their accomplishments. Also surviving are: Grandchildren; Randee Jo, Raegan, Samantha Johnson, Anaconda; Megan & Aidan Benton, Billings; Mother; Dorothy Stone Johnson, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; Sisters: Linda (Gene) Hill, Diane (Mark) Cataldo, both of Post Falls, Idaho, Sister's in laws: Claudia (Cookie) (Roger) Cook, Missoula, Deborah (Rick) Davis, Anaconda, Rosemary Duncan, Aurora, Colorado; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. His father, Al (Swede) preceded him in death as well as his grandparents and brother‘s in law, Ronald Duncan, and Larry Schumacher; as well as numerous uncles and aunts. Dad enjoyed the outdoors! He enhanced this love to his children and grandchildren. He spent any chance he could to get out fishing, hunting, camping, or 4 wheeling. He loved all animals, esp. his dog and companion Reggie, which he took on many runs and rides. He had great joy playing tricks on others or thinking of his next prank. When home, he would "putter" in the garage and could get anything to work. He traveled many places esp. enjoyed Alaska and Ireland. His biggest joy was being Grandpa for 5 wonderful grandchildren, he was so proud of them! He would do anything for his grandchildren and enjoyed following them in all their activities. His motto was "make them brats and send them home!" We miss you, Papa! We'll forever hold you in our hearts! See you at the gate, Johnson!
