Sylvan passed away peacefully at his temporary resident in Butte the morning of July 17th, 2018.
Sylvan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and friend. He was born in Waterloo, Montana to Herbert Lee Lutey and Bessie Morris Lutey. He married the love of his life Emily Wickham on June 1, 1948 in Whitehall Montana. They resided in Waterloo farming and raising their four children. In 1967 they moved to Anaconda where he worked with his younger brother. Later they retired south of Whitehall raising Black Angus cattle and finally moved back to Anaconda to be closer to family. Sylvan and Emily celebrated their 70th anniversary with their family in Butte last month.
He is survived by his wife Emily Lutey, children Sylvan Lee (Kim) Lutey, Joanne Johnson (Harlan) Clark, Bonnie Cyr-Morgan (Wayne) and Randy (Heidi) Lutey. Siblings: Nelson (Marge) Lutey in Salem, OR., Glen Lutey Anaconda, MT, Helen Lutey Garwood in Peoria, AZ. and Gene (Donna) Lutey in Anaconda MT. Grandchildren Mathew (Cindi) Johnson, Butte, Bryan Cyr, Anaconda, Jory (Corrie) Cyr Utah, Heather (Tony) Weldon, Louisiana, Angela Hicks, Butte, Joni (David) Medina, Butte, Shauna (Matt) Berg, Michigan, Brandi Dalseg, WA, Chris (Taneesha) Lutey CA.; as well as his fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. \
Grave side service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Garden at 5001 Crackerville Rd. Butte, MT.
