Susan A. Haines

February 15, 1946 — August 21, 2015

Susan A. Haines was born on February 15, 1946 in Anaconda to Richard I. and Vera (Walker) Daniels. She was the 3rd of 4 children. She received her education in Anaconda. In 1963, she married Sonny (Bernhard) Ryan and he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1972. With this marriage they were blessed with 2 children, Michael and Tammy. In 1975, she married Jack Haines and they later divorced. Then in 1986 Susan went to work for US Air and Mesa Airlines. She became known as "Mother" to thousands of stewardess's and other airline employees who came to the "Del Rio" dormitory she managed until she retired in 2008. She moved back to Anaconda upon her retirement and rekindled her love and friendship with Rick Story. Rick died in 2009. Since then she lived with her brother Jim and kept busy going to coin shows and spending time with her family. In her early years she enjoyed the outdoors and loved working with horses and enjoyed helping out in the hunting camps. Susan died on Friday, August 21, 2015 at her residence. Susan is survived by her daughter, Tammy Melton, who moved back to Anaconda four months ago to help care for her mother, Michael of Sheridan, WY; brother Jim and family of Anaconda, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Linda and brother, Dick. Per her request there will be no services.
