Shikaylah Renee Schmaus

October 16, 1991 — March 3, 2015

On March 3, 2015, our sweet loving daughter and sister unexpectedly was taken home to be with her Lord and Savior. Shikaylah Renee Schmaus was born Oct. 16, 1991, to Greg and Dianna Schmaus in Helena. She attended school at Montana City, Broadwater, C.R Anderson and graduated from Helena High in 2010. Shikaylah was a LOVER of horses and found that dream through the Eagle Mount equestrian program, becoming an accomplished rider. She moved with her family to Butte in 2011 and participated in many activities through Silverbow DD. This year, she participated in Special Olympics, taking a silver and gold medal in the skiing program. Shikaylah was gifted with talents in art and music. Her favorite songs and art pieces were ones she created for her loved ones, especially her princess Xalie songs. Shikaylah was a ray of sunshine and was always the first to smile or hug, and gave the best backrubs. She had the purest soul and was truly a gift to all she touched: Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and joy of living will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wanda Stafford and Edward and Joyce Schmaus. She is survived by her parents, Greg Schmaus and Dianna Schmaus; siblings Jennalei (Brodie) Wurtele, Brianna, Kajun and Noah Schmaus; her very beloved bug-a-boo, Xalie Wurtele; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held at the Gateway Center on Monday, March 9, at 11 a.m. Condolences can be sent to the Gateway Center in Helena.
