Roger Lewis Anderson, 73, passed away on September 6, 2026 at home after a lengthy illness.
Roger was born on March 14, 1953 to Sylvia and Lewis Anderson in Jordan, MT. He graduated from Anaconda High School in 1972. He later attended Montana State University in Bozeman and earned a degree in Bookkeeping.
Roger worked during school at Bert Wise Conoco and The Sawmill in Philipsburg. He married Mary Jane Williams and they lived in Superior, MT. where Roger worked at the Diamond Match sawmill. Their son Jayme was born in Anaconda, MT. After Roger and Mary Jane divorced, he married Millie Lantgen. Their children are Marcie and Keith. They moved to East Helena where Roger worked at the Police Department. They later moved back to Anaconda and Roger went to work for the Montana Standard. Roger also worked at the Vagabond Motel as part owner. Roger also was a long-haul truck driver for Swift Trucking for many years.
He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Anderson; his son, Keith Anderson; his daughter, Marcie (Ford) Swimmer; and his brother, Glenn (Phyllis) Anderson.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Anderson, son Jayme Anderson and brother Robert Anderson.
Viewing will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 319 Main St., Anaconda, MT at 10:00 am Monday, September 14, 2026 followed by a funeral service also at the church at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. After the service, a luncheon will follow the burial at the Presbyterian Church.
