Robert "Bob" Edward Mazzolini

Sep 30, 1942 — Jun 21, 2026

Butte, Montana

On Father’s Day evening, June 21, 2026, Bob died at his residence in Butte, Montana after a brief decline in health. His wife and daughters were by his side to comfort him as he left this world. He was 83 years old.

Bob was born on September 30, 1942, in San Fernando, CA. He attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School in North Hollywood, CA, St. Paul’s Elementary School in Anaconda, MT, Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA, and Cal State Northridge where he earned a BS in Chemistry. He married and raised a family with wife Denyse in Saugus, CA, while working in the aerospace industry for Hughes Aircraft/Ratheon/GM for over 30 years. Bob gleefully retired in 1998 and returned to Montana where he lived for over 25 years until his death.

He was a train, automobile, and aircraft enthusiast, dog lover, HAM radio operator, and active member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed fishing, driving his tractor, and he always reveled in a good meal. He was famous for talking your ear off about Butte and Anaconda mining history, chemistry, or stories about days long ago. Bob was also known to be a great partner on the dance floor!

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Denyse Mazzolini; daughters Michele Mazzolini-Osborne (Isaac Osborne) and Gina Mazzolini (Tobi Beck); grandchildren Byron Osborne, Ava Osborne, and Colin Beck; sister-in-law Vicki Bantau (Bill Bantau); brother-in-law Tom Jezik; nephews Scott Gravois (Jen Gravois), John Gravois (Kacie Gravois), niece Jill Gravois; cousins Donna Dennehy, Bob Mazzolini (Fran Mazzolini), Nancy Gillis (Joe Gillis), Mary Elise Mazzolini (Bernie Shaffer), Jim Girolami (Jill Girolami)), Mary Clare Girolami, Teri Girolami, and Steve Girolami (Dan Brungardt).

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Trixie” Mazzolini and Jean Mazzolini; Uncle Harold “Peachy” Mazzolini (June Mazzolini); and Aunts Eleanor “Sis” Gorsh (Frank “Gary” Gorsh) and Ethel “Gig” Cummings (Ed Cummings).
