Raymond "Ray" G. Wendt quietly passed away at Community Hospital of Anaconda on October 6, 2019.
Ray was born on August 23, 1934, the oldest son of Gustave and Marie (Schmolke) Wendt in Morrill, Minnesota. He moved to Anaconda, Montana in 1952 to work for the ACM. On August 15, 1957 he married Shirley Ann Henderson and they recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.
Ray loved the outdoors and was a master at hunting, fishing and trapping, all of which gave him great joy and a multitude of stories to share. He was gifted with an outstanding memory and an incredible sense of direction. Ray had many dear friends, most of whom will greet him for his next journey.
Ray is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Gary (Debbie) and Patrick (Sharon) and daughter Sandra (Charlie), six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his brother Gerald, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carl and Kerel Henderson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, sister Mary Ann Parrow, father and mother-in-law Archie and Dorothy Henderson, sister-in-law Jean and brother-in-law Robert.
At Ray's request, no services are planned and a private family gathering of remembrance will be held at a later date.
