Anaconda

Randy J Setter passed away in the early hours of July 17, 2026, at the age of 62, at home with his wife due to an illness.

Randy was born January 16, 1964, in Port Huron Michigan to Arthur J and Ida Mae “Brough” Setter, where he became the little brother of Kerry.

Randy and Kerry shared their childhood getting into “little boy” mischief even when they were no longer little boys. They were more than brothers, they were buddies. Even when the miles separated them, they still took time to keep in touch.

Randy started his love of the outdoors in Michigan hiking through the woods, fishing and hunting with his parents, brother and grandparents. A love that followed him throughout his life. In 1996 Randy moved to Anaconda, Montana and deemed it his home.

Randy’s world turned totally upside down with love in 2000 and 2002 when he welcomed two beautiful red headed daughters into his life, and they were his whole world. He always found time to spend with them. He shared stories of how he played with dolls and had tea parties, and then in the pool and on the trampoline as they got older. He was so proud of their accomplishments and how independent they became as they matured into young ladies.

For almost 30 years Randy owned Randy’s Cleaning service providing carpet cleaning throughout the Anaconda and Butte area. His youngest daughter Roxie eventually joined him and has taken over the family business as sole proprietor.

On any given day Randy could be found hiking many of the trails and some areas without trails throughout the Anaconda area. He loved fishing, hunting and foraging the area (which I won’t disclose where due to promises made) three things Randy openly said he would lie to you about, where he hunted, where he fished and where he foraged.

June 16, 2017 Randy married Brendalee Buckmaster and they continued the love of hiking, hunting and fishing the Pintler wilderness.

He thoroughly enjoyed when lifelong friends, Chuck Cornwell, Randy Cuthbert, Loren Lohr and Scott McKean were able to come to Montana and go hunting with him. The stories he shared with me truly showed me the love of lasting friendship.

Randy is survived by his wife Brendalee Setter, his two daughters Rainie and Roxie Setter. Stepdaughter Amanda “Rose” Tremmel, brother Kerry Setter of Indiana, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his step grandchildren.

Memorials suggested to Pintler Home Options where he received in home Hospice care. 615 Main St. Anaconda, Mt. 59711.

At Randy’s request there will not be any services. The family thanks all of those in our community, especially our neighbors that reached out with love, support and prayers during the past 7 months.

Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home is privileged to care for Randy and his family.
