Pamela Jean Duffey

January 7, 1961 — April 28, 2026

Anaconda

Pamela Jean Duffey, 65, of Anaconda, Montana, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on the early morning of April 28, 2026, at the Community Hospital of Anaconda, surrounded by her loved ones.

Pamela was born on January 7, 1961, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Ralph and Verna Brown. She was the youngest of eight children and was lovingly raised in a close-knit family. During her early years, the family lived in Lead, South Dakota, where her father worked at the Homestake Gold Mine. They later moved to Deer Lodge, Montana, where Pamela spent most of her childhood. She attended local schools and was a proud member of the marching cadets, traveling to perform at various events, including the Calgary Stampede.

On February 28, 1976, Pamela married Lane Ruegamer, and together they began raising a family. They were blessed with four children: Jackson, Michael, Tony, and Candace. After relocating to Anaconda, Pamela took on the primary responsibility of raising her children. Demonstrating remarkable determination, she pursued further education while working and caring for her family, ultimately earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.

Pamela devoted her career to caring for others, working at Colonial Manor in Deer Lodge, providing in-home care, and serving as an LPN at the Montana State Hospital. Her compassion and dedication touched many lives throughout her career.

Pamela later met the love of her life, Roy Duffey. Their relationship grew over time, with Roy supporting Pamela and her family. They were united in marriage on July 11, 1998, and shared many happy years together.

Pamela cherished her family above all else. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren, attending their activities and celebrating their accomplishments whenever possible. She enjoyed traveling to visit family in Texas, Bozeman, and Livingston. In her free time, Pamela loved bowling, camping, fishing at Georgetown Lake, scenic drives, and dining at local restaurants.

Pamela will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. She was compassionate, nonjudgmental, and deeply caring—both in her personal life and her profession. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Verna Brown; her sister, Virginia Gilchrist; her brother, Rod Brown; and other beloved family members.

Pamela is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Duffey; her children, Jackson, Michael (Latasha), Tony (Katie), and Candace (Jacob); her cherished grandchildren, Adara, Aevla, Ryan, Abbey, Anna, Carter, Bridger, Quinlin, and Aksel; her siblings, Ronnie, Janice, Teresa, Karen, and Randy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
