After a series of medical difficulties, Nancy June Hansen died on August 24th at St. James Hospital in Butte.
Nancy was born on December 26th, 1942 in Anaconda. She was the only daughter of Phillip and Phyllis Platt. She attended Washington School, Anaconda Junior High and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1961.
After graduation, she worked for Black's Jewelry Store, and Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a business representative. In 1967, she married Walter Hansen, and followed his teaching career for the next forty years in Geraldine, Livingston, and Anaconda. In 1968, she gave birth to Carlye Marie, and in 1972 a son, Shawn David was born. The Hansen's granddaughter, Alexis Marie was born in 1993.
Nancy was a wonderful wife and mother. She attended all activities, mostly school related, and was an outstanding chaperone for Speech and Debate Meets and Band trips. She was secretary/treasurer for Band Parents for a number of years. Nancy was an organized person and was highly responsible for her husband's Speech and Debate meets held in Anaconda. Nancy was also an accomplished pianist.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Walt, her daughter Carlye Marie, her son Shawn David and her granddaughter and her husband, Alexis and Matt Bowdish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Phyllis Platt and her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Sadie Hansen.
A funeral is planned at Longfellow Finnegan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29th at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
