Michael " Mike" Skocilich

March 26, 1947 — April 12, 2025

Anaconda

On April 12th, 2025 our beloved father, Michael J. Skocilich (Mike), son of Dorthy and Larry Skocilich, of Anaconda, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family.

Mike was born March 26th, 1947 and celebrated 56 years with his bride before her death. He is preceded in death by his wife Heidi, his mom, dad, and brothers Dusty and Rick Skocilich.

Mike prided himself in his work. He was a dedicated man. He loved working on the Anaconda Smelter until it closed in 1980. He then traveled to other places running cranes to support his family until finally settling at MRI and retiring in 2011.

He enjoyed helping friends, especially his buddy Mick Nazer on service calls and picking up the Commons Christmas tree until it became permanent. He had many interests like coin collecting, M & M’s, and hunting. Hunting being his favorite hobby. He enjoyed spending this time with his brothers, friends, and family. He really loved this hobby when the kids were being taught, especially after his grandchildren started joining him.

My dad shared many stories, most had some sort of a lesson. His favorite story was a hunting story about his grandson Dylan and their successful Bison hunt. He loved peaceful nights in his chair, but enjoyed teasing his wife and later his kids and Nora in the kitchen.

He is survived by his sister Debby (Cid) Hill, brother Marty (Michelle) Skocilich, his children DeeAnn (Dan) McNay, Michael Jr. (Heather) Skocilich, Tonya Skocilich, Melanie (Carlos) Barrios, Raymond (Nora) Skocilich. His grandchildren DJ & Dustin McNay, Destiny Celentano, Kyle & Marina Skocilich, Jevan Vu, Anthony & Leslie Barrios, Dylan, Kiera, Conner, and Kylie Skocilich. Great grandkids Watson Skocilich, Espin & Liam McNay, and Amari & Avery Martes.
