Michael "Mike" Jacob Maciag

Mike Maciag, 62, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, May 14th of natural causes. Mike attended St. Paul’s Elementary School and was a graduate of Anaconda Senior High School.

Mike loved all sports, especially baseball. He played Little-League baseball all through grade school and earned MVP honors several years while part of the league.

Upon graduating high school, Mike worked a variety of jobs until finding his career in 1993, where Mike became a proud member of the IBEW. His first job was in Denver CO, which became the first stop on his adventures working all around the country following the installs of Americas Light Rail Transit Projects. Some of the cities he was fortunate to work in where; Dallas TX, Oceanside CA, San Diego CA, Portland OR, Old Saybrook CT, New Haven CT, Quonset Point RI, and South Boston MA. Just to name a few.

Mike was well liked and respected by all of his coworkers because of his strong work ethic. Mike was a real asset to any crew he was a part of. He excelled at any job he was assigned, earning him the nickname "The Champ!"

In 2002 Mike chose to leave the East Coast and return to Montana, where he became a full-time caretaker to his aging parents, Steve and Marge Maciag.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Marge Maciag. He is survived by his two sisters, Joann Proxell and Mary Brasher. Four brothers, Steve Maciag, Joe Maciag, Jim Maciag, and Jacob Maciag. In-laws Ed Proxell, Leslie Maciag, Kim Maciag, and Bob Brasher. As well as numerous nieces and nephews and even great-nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.
