Mary Geraldine Becker

Born Mary Geraldine Bliler in Livingston, MT on April 23, 1938. She was raised in Clyde Park. Mary passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at the age of 87 at the Powell County Medical Center in Deer Lodge.

After graduation Mary went to school for Cosmetology and worked two years in Bozeman. She married Hardy Becker of Wilsall, Montana in April of 1960. They resided at Brackett Creek where they leased a ranch.

Hardy and Mary had their first child in Bozeman. In 1962 they moved to Opportunity, MT where they had their second child; in 1965 they moved to Deer Lodge, MT where their third child was born. Hardy worked for Montana Department of Corrections at the Prison Dairy until 1970. At this time Hardy went to work for the sawmill. They welcomed their fourth child in 1972.

Mary started working for Deer Lodge Middle School as a playground aid. Then she went into the kitchen as a cook until she retired in 1995 to take care of her husband.

Mary enjoyed sewing, riding and packing horses on overnight trips, family camping, and her beloved cats. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jacob and Gen Bliler; her husband, Hardy Becker; sister, Carol Hembry; brother, John Bliler; and daughter in law, Susie Becker.

She is survived by her sons, Craig Becker, Shane Becker, and Bruce Becker; daughter, Tammy (Tom) Clawson; brother, Doug (Robin) Bliler; cousin, Betty Lou Fitzpatrick and Sandy Simmons; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Special people in Mary’s life were, Susan Becker, Lana Becker, Leonard Thomas, Terri Bliler, Diane Roberts, Daphne Fiske, and four special people were Deb Cousins, Diane Solle, Duane and Shirley Colwell, Brooke Alsup, and Charley Alsup.

Funeral Service will be at held at 11am Friday, May 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 127 Sam Beck Rd, Deer Lodge. Viewing with a visitation begins at 10am. A graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery will follow the funeral service. Following the services, the family invites you to join them for a reception at the Elks Lodge, 230 Main St. in Deer Lodge.
