Marlys Kay Hurlbert

Marlys K. Hurlbert, 72, passed away peaceful at home on April 23, 2026 in Anaconda with the company of family and friends after strongly battling a number of illnesses. Marlys started her life in North Dakota and came to Anaconda with her family in 1957. Marlys went to school in Anaconda and after graduating began working at Montana State Hospital at Warmsprings for thirty three years. She continued her hard work ethic at local businesses until she fully retired. During her time she raised her only child Eric.

Marlys met people with a smile and would put others before herself. Marlys enjoyed many activities over her years from bowling, softball, volleyball, basketball, cross-country skying, traveling and gambling. Marlys was always involved in family events enjoying the time spent with loved ones. She also loved her pets, caring for many of them over the years.

She is survived by son Eric and siblings; Karen (Pat), Nancy (Serge), Dave (Cheryl); and numinous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Elnor; and siblings Don, Gloria, Jerry, Duane.

There will be no services per her wishes. In lieu of flower or gifts, please donate to Pintler Pets.
