Marilyn Christine Anderson passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2025. She is survived by two nephews, Paul B. (Cathleen) Anderson and Brad C. (Jodi) Anderson; two nieces, Judith L. Cunningham and Lori J. (Dale) Goldy; one great niece; five great nephews; three great, great nieces and three great, great nephews. In passing, she rejoins her parents, Jack W. and Mary Grgurash Anderson, and her brother, Robert J. (Ann Marie) Anderson.
Born on October 8, 1938, Marilyn spent her childhood and most of her adult life in Anaconda, Montana. She graduated from Anaconda High School in 1956 and spent her entire career as a bookkeeper working for Daly Bank, Intermountain Bus Company and Robbie Johnson & Town Pump.
Marilyn was a quintessential aunt, lovingly referred to as Aunt Marlo. As her nieces and nephews were growing up, she constantly spent quality time with them and spoiled them often with many generous gifts. She selflessly saved all of her money through the years so she could provide financial support to all of her nieces and nephews’ children and grandchildren.
Marilyn’s giving heart didn’t stop with her family. She bent over backwards to help any and all friends in need. She had a special place in her heart to care for the elderly and the sick. Even in her last years when she was living in a memory care facility in Butte, Montana, Marilyn was constantly caring for the other residents. Everyday, she would take fellow residents to breakfast, lunch and dinner, helped serve them their meals and stayed behind to clean the dishes. She did all of this so staff members had more time to care for everyone else.
Marilyn was always caring, always hardworking, never judgmental and made the best candy in town. For over 50 years, Marilyn was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and served as a Director of Cancer Campaign in 1972. As a result of her many volunteer hours supporting multiple charities throughout the years, Marilyn was awarded “Citizen of the Year” in 1987.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her enduring legacy of charity and kindness inspire all of us to be better people. We love you, Marlo, and we look forward to seeing you again one day.
