Margaret "Marg" M. Bartholomew

Margaret (Connors) Bartholomew, longtime resident of Anaconda, passed away October 22, 2014, at the Community Hospital of Anaconda. She was 94 years old. Margaret was born to Pat and Margaret Connors on January 27, 1920, in Anaconda. She was one of seven children that were raised by Granny Callan after the death of their mother. Marg graduated from the College of Great Falls with a two-year teaching certificate, and her first teaching job was in a one-room school in Helmville, Montana. There, she met Harry Bartholomew, they married and later moved to Anaconda. At the corner of Third and Ash Street, Marg and Harry raised four daughters and one son. The Bartholomew's always had room for more around their table. Grandpa Pat Connors, Rhea Connors, Lenny and Jimmy Lemire were welcomed into their home. At the center of all of this was a loving, generous matriarch that provided the glue for this family. After raising her family, Marg went back to school to finish her education degree. She began teaching as "Mrs. B" at Lincoln School where she worked with her siblings, Rhea Connors, a teacher, and her brother Red Pat Connors, who was the engineer. After she retired, she enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking for family, and traveling. She had the most beautiful flowers and shared them with the neighborhood. Grandma Marg is survived by her children: Mary Pat (Dave) McLean, Peggy Tesson, Nancy (Don) Clark, Rosie Hagemo, and Tim (Darla) Bartholomew. She was blessed with fourteen grandchildren: Meg (Paul) Pinza, Molly (Lyle) Hibler, Mike (Angela) McLean, Marty (Anthea) McLean, Jeneene (Rob) Samaniego, Rob (Shannon) Tesson, Brian Tesson and Mike Hale, Matt Tesson, Andy (Deepi) Clark, Tricia (Rick) Sellers, Kristi (Kevin) Kelly, TJ (Danielle) Hagemo, Justin (Lindsay) Bartholomew, and Jamie (Brad) Chisholm. She was also blessed with 23 great grandchildren: Ryan, Anthony Pinza, Grace, Devin Hibler, Nicholas McLean, Colin, Ellen McLean, Britney, Justin, Cory Tesson, Joe, Courtney Samaniego, Max, Alex, Leo Clark, Will, Annie Sellers, Connor, Alexis, Rylee Hagemo, Kora Kelly, Colten Chisholm, and Easton Bartholomew. Marg was preceded in death by her parents Pat and Margaret Connors, her husband Harry, son-in-law Pierre Tesson, great grandsons Carter and Ayden, all of her Connors siblings and Bartholomew in-laws. There will be a vigil held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 24th. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda. Burial will follow service at Mount Olivet. There will be a luncheon at Holy Family Church following the burial services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Anaconda Pintler Hospice at 118 East 7th St., Suite A, Anaconda, MT 59711.
