Margaret "Marge" Ellen Harris

Margaret (Marge) Ellen Aakre Harris July 30, 1939 - May 26, 2014 On May 26th Marge Harris was called home to rejoin her husband Charlie, son Christopher, nephew Jake Aakre and her father, Hank Aakre. She passed away at her daughter's home in Anaconda where she was being lovingly cared for by her daughter Cristi, her granddaughter Cassie and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge was born on July 30, 1939 in Conrad, Montana to Henry (Hank) and Lois Aakre, the oldest of four children. Marge grew up and attended schools in Conrad, graduating from Conrad High School. She followed up with college in Great Falls and worked for the Department of Agriculture in Conrad. Marge took her vacation in November to visit her sister and brother-in-law in Oak Harbor, WA, where she met Charles (Charlie) Harris, whom she married three weeks later. Charlie was a sailor and together they traveled wherever the Navy sent them. Together they had four children. They returned to Conrad in 1978 after Charlie retired from the Navy. Marge had missed her family and friends in her hometown for 20 years, and although she loved the adventures in other places she wanted to be home. After Charlie passed, Marge began working as a desk clerk at the Super 8 Motel in Conrad. She worked there for 19 years, retiring officially in October 2013. She loved her job and was honored many times as Employee of the Month, Quarter, and Year, which she was very proud of. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Harris, her son Christopher Harris, her nephew Jake Aakre, and her father Henry (Hank) Aakre. She is survived by her daughter; Cleo Harris and family, her son; Chuck (Mary Ann) Harris and family (Ryan, (Bronwen) Harris and Story Margaret, Joe (Krista) Harris, Jessica (Chang) Yang, Lee, Charlie and Jacob Harris); her daughter; Cristi Boyd and family (Cassandra (Greg) Boyd, Keaton and Kinlee; Kelly (Amanda) Boyd, Ryleigh and Ridge) and Eric Boyd. She is also survived by her mother; Lois Aakre, sisters; Cleo Everhard, and Jean Bryant, her brother; Jim Aakre, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marge was truly loved and stated she knew she must have done something right to have so many people love her. Her positive attitude rose colored glasses, funny sayings, humor, loyalty, card and Kismet playing, loving, caring, listening, and non-judgmental ways will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We love you Mom. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 10:00 am at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church in Conrad with a committal service following at Hillside Cemetery.
