Lynn Curley Boyce
It is with great sadness that the family of Lynn Curley Boyce announces that she passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 89 on August 17th, 2025, in Anaconda, MT.
Lynn was born in 1936 in Anaconda, MT, the only child of Peter J. Curley and Rosella (Scanlon) Curley. She was raised in Anaconda and graduated from Anaconda High School. Following graduation, Lynn earned a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Montana, Western. She then went on to get her MA in English and eventually an endorsement in Special Education from the University of Montana. She taught school in Anaconda, MT for 35 years, teaching everything from Kindergarten through High School, Special Ed, Art, and Music. When asked about her favorite subject or grade that she taught, she would always say she loved them all.
Lynn was a consummate pianist and enjoyed accompanying students at music festivals, as well as plays, and the Anaconda Choral Society. As a child, she lived across the street from St. Paul's School, where the Nuns were her first Piano teachers.
She married Jim Boyce, the love of her life, in 1967, and together they had 3 children: Roseann, Pete, and Gene. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved going to lunch every Tuesday with her "Lunch Bunch," where she couldn't quit bragging about her grandchildren, Ethan, Bella, and Kate, and her adorable dog, Lexi. She also enjoyed her annual trips to Seattle with her son Gene to cheer on her favorite teams, the Mariners and the Seahawks.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Roseann Boyce (Norman Andersch), sons Pete Boyce (Kane (Marinkovich) Boyce) and Gene Boyce, and dog Lexi; her grandchildren, Ethan Andersch, Bella Boyce, and Kate Boyce, grand dog Megan; and her cousins Donna Scanlon Gilbert and Jack Scanlon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Boyce, and parents, Peter J. Curley and Rosella (Scanlon) Curley.
We want to thank all of the wonderful people at the Community Hospital of Anaconda, Pintler Home Health and Trek Home Health and Hospice for their amazing care and support. They have been a true blessing.
