Lourlie Mildred Johnson Horswill, 83, of Deer Lodge, MT

Lourlie Mildred Johnson Horswill, 83 of Deer Lodge, MT passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at her home.

Lourlie, daughter of Melvin and Lenora (Nelson) Johnson was born on April 4, 1941, at Kintyre, ND. She was raised on the family farm in Kintyre, attended school and graduated in Napoleon, ND.

Lourlie held many jobs. Her favorite job was working at the 4B's with her co-workers serving her loyal customers. She loved going to Lynn's Hairstyles to visit with the girls and the customers, making sure all the towels were washed, dried, and folded.

Lourlie loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved sewing, knitting, reading books, listening to music, and dancing to a good two step or polka with the Jammers at the Elks. She had a route she would drive to check on all her kids and special friends. She loved visiting the kids and eating dinner. Always ready for a big hug and kiss. She will be remembered for her beautiful quilts and wonderful dish cloths.

Lourlie is survived by her children, Lisa (Marty) Hunter, Deer Lodge, Mark (Kelly) Horswill, Big Timber, Lynn (Willie) Johnson, Deer Lodge, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 more great grandchildren on the way; Blanche Gill, sister in law, Denver, CO, many nephews and nieces along with all the other children she raised over the years.

Lourlie is preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn (Buck) Horswill; son, Mervin Horswill; her brother, Marvin Johnson; and parents.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held in Deer Lodge, MT on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church with a luncheon to follow at the Elks. Burial service and celebration of life will be held in Kintyre, ND on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11 am with a luncheon to follow.
