Lorraine Kaye Rooney

Lorraine Kaye Rooney Resident of Santa Clara 1945 - 2014 Kaye entered into eternal peace on Monday, February 24, 2014 surrounded by her family. Kaye lived everyday of her life to the fullest. A kind, compassionate and generous woman, she will be remembered by her family and friends for how much she cared for others. Kaye was born November 7, 1945 in Great Falls, Montana. She attended high school in Anaconda, Montana, and married Frank Rooney in 1965. Kaye and Frank left Montana in 1968 for their new home in California. Having completed cosmetology school in Montana, she was a creative hair stylist for her clients and many friends. She styled hair in several salons over the years and retired in 2010 from The Uppercut Salon in Sunnyvale, California. Kaye loved to dance and enjoyed creating a peaceful garden in her backyard. Always creative, she loved crafting her beautiful crocheted throws, blankets and scarves. Kaye looked forward to her fun getaways with her friends and family. Kaye is preceded in death by her father Roy Baumgartner, mother Lulu Baumgartner, sister Janet Finnegan, and in-laws Frank and Nona Rooney. She is survived by her daughter Terri Rooney (John Bartlett), son Todd Rooney, sister Patty Nazer (Mickie), brother Rick Baumgartner (Glenda), sister Candy Jewett (Gary), her ever loving friend and ex-husband Frank Rooney, sister-in-law AvaLee Thomas (Jim), sister-in-law Colene Allen (Bill), brother-in-law George Rooney and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed dearly by her long time neighbors Bob and Elaine Judson and Geri Wilcox, and her dearest friends Carol Pence, Cathy Carrillo, Cathy Kannenberg, Joann Caravalho, Judy Liecher, and Mary Heaney. A memorial service was presided by Pastor Joan Randall at the Sunny View Community Center, Cupertino, California on Saturday, April 5th at 1:30 p.m. A second memorial service was held at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home, Anaconda, Montana on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception following until 2:00 p.m.
