Lois Jean Klemann

September 18, 1934 — March 18, 2025

Anaconda

Lois J. Klemann, 90, finished her life’s journey on March 18, 2025.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, after fighting some recent health issues.  Lois was born on September 18, 1934, the oldest of three children to Bruno and Dorothy (McCale) Wolter.  She lived her entire life In Anaconda, graduating from AHS in 1952.  Lois first worked at the Phone Company in Butte, making phone books. She then went to work at the Smelter, where she met the love of her life, Art Klemann.  They were married June 6, 1954. They were blessed with four children.

Lois was a homemaker while her kids were young, and later went to work at JC Penneys. She was a 4-H Leader for many years, spending much time at the Tri-County Fair.  She bowled for many, many years, played in a hand bell choir for over 20 years, was a Pythian Sister, and was very involved at the First Presbyterian Church – singing in the choir, serving as a Deacon, and participating in PW (Presbyterian Women).  Lois loved to play games, especially cards.  She and her sister Ruth were ingenious Scrabble players.  They could create words that no one else has ever heard of.  She was still playing pinochle with a group of friends at the time of her passing.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, and Art, her loving husband of nearly 52 years.  Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Bill) Riley, and Ginny (Scott) Francis; sons, Russ (Kaylin) Klemann and Todd (Sharmayne) Klemann; grandchildren, Brett (Jessica) Riley, Colt (Britney) Klemann, Codi (Reed) Harbour, and Barry Francis; step grandchildren, Colton (Sarah) Colbert and Carsen Colbert (Travis Snider); precious great grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Brinlee, Cashley, Kye and Kylin; sister, Ruth Church, brother, Bob (Peggy) Wolter, sister in law Donna Lee Klemann, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved so much.

Lois was a very outgoing, social person with an infectious smile.  She loved meeting people and making friends.  She will be sadly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  A recent highlight for her was being honored at her 90th birthday party.
